MTGS V Midlands MTGS Tuesday 12th June 2018 at Tadmarton G.C.
Both sides mustered ten athletes for the match and all duly arrived in time for a light lunch before battle commenced at 2pm.
The weather was wonderful, the condition of the course excellent and each and every game was very close. One member of the Midlands side, Vaughan, arrived resplendent in his Wolves shirt so that he and I could share our team’s wonderful achievement of reaching the Premiership. The other players responded accordingly!!!!!
The overall match ended all square so the Midlands retained the Trophy. We had winners in Nick Haigh & Neil Smith and Paul Healy& Joff Suter: there narrow defeats for Paul Newman & John Callender and Lee Cohen & David Potts with a half for Conrad Gamble and Pawan Kenth.
A tasty dinner, a few words and anecdotes from me (with new material!) ended a thoroughly enjoyable day for one and all.
