Welcome to the inaugural MTGS match against the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
MTGS entry open to all members. Our first visit to Surbiton Golf Club, a lovely private member's course just off the A3. It's a Tom Dunn designed course, who also designed Broadstone, Woking and Richmond Golf Courses. All inquires to the match manager David Potts (iapotts@btinternet.com)

Thank you to our team members who were able to play our inaugural match against the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). There were some unavoidable last minute drop outs, so both sides were only able to field small, but perfectly formed, teams of six. We were very lucky that the predicted rain held off and the brollies, that we had all brought along, did not have to be used.
Surbiton Golf Course was in great condition, having benefitted from the recent sunshine and rain. The greens were fast and true, the tee boxes nicely manicured and fairways were neatly striped. For a course so close to London, it was amazing to be surrounded by fields of grazing horses.
It was a good, friendly match played in a great spirit. Ian Dowdeswell and I led with the first team and, thanks almost entirely to Ian’s good form, we won 6/4. John Smith and Ray Fisher had a very tough match and did very well to bring in a half on the 18th. Ian Hill and Mark Hawker unfortunately succumbed in the last game, thus resulting in an overall draw.
As it was a new match, John Smith kindly repurposed a trophy donated after the demise of the Croydon and East Surrey Golf Society. As hosts of this year's match, we brought the trophy home for John to bring back to the engravers to record the draw. Thank you John!
