Woking 2021 Member / Guest Day Write Up

Thank you to the 43 members and 33 guests (9 from the FMI) who came along to our 2nd Member/Guest Day of 2021 at Woking Golf Club last Friday.  It was phenomenal to see so many supporting the society at a time when Covid is still restricting our golf days.  The weather gods were unfortunately unkind to us.  Not quite as biblical as the BBC had been forecasting, but blustery winds and flurries of rain tested everyone’s golfing endurance and waterproofs.

The course was in top notch condition.  The greens were fast and the pins were set up ready for a club championship the next day.  Restrictions easing meant that we were lucky enough to be able to eat lunch in the dining room.  Not a day to be eating in a marquee with two walls open to the elements.   Good to see so many familiar faces interspersed with a healthy number of fresh recruits.

Unsurprisingly the average scores for the day were not the highest.  The stand out performances for the day were from the winner and runner up of Div 1, who both came in with 36 points.  Well played Mr Suter and Friedman!

Well done to all our winners today.
