Hankley Common 23rd April MTGS Seniors v Members
There are those in the MTGS who believe that the 2002 president is in cahoots with the "Weather Gods!"
The beautiful Hankley Common Golf Club was the setting for the second meeting of the season, on Tuesday 23rd April. Superb weather and the excellent condition of the golf course combined to create a perfect day for golf. Hankley Common is so peaceful that even the occasional overhead airliner seems to feather its engines.
Format for the day was singles match play. The teams of eight were led by Lionel Squire, for the seniors and Tony Worthy for the members. The result hardly matters but for the record, the match finished all square, at four wins each.
The society's thanks go to Hankley Common secretary Stuart Scott and his hard working catering and bar staff for all they did to make the visit memorable.
