MTGS Match Report - Match v RLC at The Berkshire 19th Aug 2009
On one of the hottest days of this year the MTGS team did battle with the guys from the RLC golf Society. The guys from the Army put up a good team with some low handicap players. From the start I knew it was going to be a difficult day........
The 1st tee was booked for 8.00am so an early start was needed by all. Luckily as the schools are still off, the traffic was light and all the team arrived on time. A good start so far...
The bacon rolls were good and we were playing the Blue Course. Doug and I were drawn to play a 5 and a 16 handicapped pair. After 9 holes we were still all square all though our opponents were at level par! I then remembered that for the team to win I had to lose....... (well that's how it's worked so far this year) . With hard work we managed to lose on the 16th hole so all looked good.
As you will see below only one other MTGS pair lost so the MTGS had 3/2 victory and I brought home the cup.
