Bandits in Tenerife at Tenerife
Sun 21st to Sun 28th November 2010
News and information from this event
8 members and 2 guests had a wonderful time last week in the Canaries.
Vipen Khanna had organised the trip. We stayed at the H10 Conquistador Hotel in Playa de las Americas on the south coast of Tenerife. The golf courses we played were Costa Adeje 3 rounds and Abama 4 rounds. The weather was in the mid twenties
every day and the sun shone almost all of the time. The best score was 38 points by Stan Chicksand at Adeje on the Tuesday and the worst was also by Stan at Abama the day before….! Handicaps were adjusted following each round with the winner cut 1
or 2 strokes and the last man gaining a shot. The format was stableford Monday to Friday and medal on Saturday with the net
medal score taken from the total stableford score.
The scores were very close on Friday night with half of the players having a chance to win the “Bandits” trophy.
Friday night was very windy and the first few holes on Saturday morning were interesting to say the least! However skill (or perhaps luck) prevailed and Vip Khanna came in with a low enough score to win the trophy by 1 stroke/point from Don Baynham (Guest of Peter Featherstone)
It is possible that there is now a shortage of beer and wine on the island! All agreed that we had a great week, but no one liked the –2c that we came back to at Gatwick on Sunday night!!
