"This presitige annual fixture took place at Stoke Poges on 4th October, courtesy of Freddie Aldous, non playing captain of the BVRLA and was bathed in autumn sunshine.
Sadly MTGS did not respond either to the scintillating performance of the European Ryder Cup team last weekend or the excellent weather and conditions and were defeated by 4.5 to 3.5 points.
President Lionel Squire and his playing partner Nick Kingsbury set altogether the wrong example in match one, being thrashed 8 and 6!!
Despite some slow service in the clubhouse, everyone agreed that the event was a great success and MTGS made thepoint forcefully that the trophy is merely on loan.
So, its two matches to go.
Beaconsfield Bogies a seniors match on 7/10 and the match against the BMW Dealer Society at Bearwood Lakes on 9/10.
