THE MIDLANDS RETAIN THE PUTTER
The only thing that changed on Wednesday 30th April was the weather.
Having enjoyed fine sunny conditions at our first two meetings of the season the weather took a turn for the worst when we played our annual fixture against The Midlands at Tadmarten, near Banbury. The society suffered their fourth successive defeat failing, by 4 matches to 2, to take the magnificent putter trophy from the holders.
Whilst the sun did shine a thunderstorm, accompanied by hailstones, ensured that we kept our waterproofs on throughout most of the afternoon.
Tadmarten is a very friendly golf course set in farmland. Whilst it is a short course, there are no par 5's, it does have a number of challenging holes. It is well worth a visit and despite the result the MTGS players are looking forward to going back next year. TW 0503
