MTGS Guest meeting
Worplesdon Golf Club
30th June 2011
Our summer guest meeting had been moved from The Berkshire to Worplesdon this year so after traditional Bacon Rolls and coffee, 44 members and 21 guests set off from 4 tees at 9.15 am. The weather forecast was good and the round was played in ideal conditions with broken sunshine and a light breeze. This challenging golf course was in superb condition with fast greens which resulted in some fine scores from both divisions.
After an excellent lunch in the vaulted ceiling dining room,the President thanked the club for their warm welcome and asked the members for feedback regarding this new venue.
Thanks also to Jigsaw Finance for their generous sponsorship and of course to John Smith, our golf manager, ably assisted by John Etches who dealt with the scorecards, trophies and prizes. We also welcomed a new member, David Hussey, who played for the first time.
