Wentworth Golf Club
Tuesday 9th October 2012

Our final match of 2012 took place at the wonderful West course at Wentworth Golf Club in Virginia Water. The West has a fantastic history of major golf events being played on it along with all of the top players from around the world. So it was a fitting venue to play our final match and my final match as your President.

Play began at 9.45 am with Nick Haig and Mike Bell leading off , followed by Derek Allen and James Crickmay, then the pairing of John Smith and Ray Fisher followed by Brian Lowe and Craig, then Godfrey and Neil and the anchor place was Jerry and Graeme Hunt.
The golf course was in great condition with perfect golfing weather.
The BMW team won the match 4 ½ to 1 ½
The only points won by the MTGS team were Nick and Mike 1 point and Godfrey and Neil ½ point
After an excellent lunch, Derek Allen presented the magnificent trophy, a Formula 1 Brake Disc from a Williams BMW Grand Prix Car, to Gary of BMW. All agreed this match should continue to be played at Wentworth in the future, so lets hope BMW agree to this for next year.

My thanks to Tony Worthy for organising the match and dealing with the club

Derek Allen
