MATCH REPORT
MTGS v BVRLA at STOKE PARK THURSDAY 4th OCTOBER 2012.
The team assembled at 7.30am to try and avoid the traffic congestion in the area and met in the Ballroom for coffee and bacon rolls. The BVRLA were led as usual by their non playing captain Freddie Aldous who takes responsibility for organising the days events.
The BVRLA team was very strong as they were all selected on the basis of winning their golf tournaments around the country earlier in the year. The match results were as follows:--
Derek Allen & Neil Smith - Lost
Roger Prowting & Graham Balaam - Lost
Mike Bell & Trevor Teer - Won
Mike Warnes & Steve Wright - Lost
Lee Cohen & Steven Martindale - Won
Robert Cole & Oliver Harris - Lost
The weather was perfect for playing golf and we cannot blame the course for our loss which was in magnificent condition with very fast greens .
As usual the lunch and wines were first class thanks to Freddie Aldous who chooses the menu each year. The Trophy was handed over to Freddie by Derek with the hope that we will be successful in winning it back next year and a good day was enjoyed by all concerned
